Year: Senior

The communications field has always seemed the right fit for me. I've been passionate about writing since my youth and began developing articles for regional publications during high school. I went on to gain experience in oral communications through public speaking competitions and teaching in community education programs.

During my first Penn State experience, I paired minors in communications and outreach education with degrees that allowed me to pursue my personal interest in the natural sciences. I edited my college's student news publication and pursued internships in communications support for scientific and educational organizations. Along the way, I developed a portfolio of print media, educational booklets, newsletters, web and radio projects.

After graduation, I began writing part-time for a regional magazine and decided I would like to broaden my background in communications. I recently returned to Penn State to complete a journalism degree in the College of Communications. My skills now include print, photography and multimedia work; and my coursework in science, education and business gives me a broad background upon which to draw. I look forward to pursuing opportunities in media or public relations when I graduate this spring.
