There's one obscure, random quote I found one day that describes my love affair with journalism.

"I'd rather smell the printers' ink and hear the presses go around than go to any grand opera in the world." -- Winifred Black Bonfils

There's nothing more fulfilling for me to spend a day with newspaper ink on my hands -- not because it looks good (in fact, it's kind of gross), but because it means I'm informed that day. Whether it be from a national paper or The Daily Collegian where I work as campus editor, I'm addicted to news.

I started at Penn State's independent, 20,000+ circulation paper, The Daily Collegian in fall 2006. Since then, I've been a greeks reporter, a student government reporter, campus chief, news editor and now campus editor.

I've realized that my true calling is in editing. For me, there is nothing more satisfying than helping a reporter with a tricky lead, or seeing a reporter memorize AP Style without my help. I love writing, but I love editing more.

I hope to one day be an editor of a magazine or a daily newspaper.
