Fireworks light the streets. Car horns can be heard throughout the entire neighborhood. The cheering seems as though it will never come to an end. The home team is victorious.
Only ten years old, and because of broadcasting, I remember the very first championship game that made me realize I had a passion for sports.
Ever since I watched that particular team overcome defeat, ever since I felt that moment of victory and ever since I saw a city unite as one after going forty-two years without a title, I knew that story should never be forgotten.
The hype of the moment was incredible, but being able to preserve it through the use of video recorders, audio recorders, a keyboard and a camera was even better. That moment can now be relived, and that moment can now be shared with others.
I know that championship night in my home town really did take place -- and I have proof because the videos are next to my TV, the pictures are in frames, and the newspaper is displayed on my wall.
The truth is, I love remembering stories, and I love hearing new ones too. But even better yet, I love telling them most of all. Whether it is through producing TV stories, producing radio segments, or snapping a series of photographs, I love taking the responsibility of making sure a story is told right. A lot of hard work goes into producing a story that I want my name attached to, but in the end, the final result is well worth the effort. I know I have found my passion in life, and I would love to share great stories with those who are unaware of their existence.
