Multimedia Projects
Multimedia reporting is integrated across the curriculum in the College of Communications. In the convergence journalism class, a documentary photography projects class and at university-sponsored workshops, students are learning to combine all the tools in the multimedia reporting kit to produce standout projects. Here are some examples of their work:

Halloween 2008 -- Students fanned out across campus to document the nuttiness that makes Halloween at Penn State a unique experience. They found a wide variety of costumes, from a Bobblehead inspired by the television show "The Office," to a human Tetris puzzle, a Brett Favre re-enactor and a talking (well, shouting) Italian sub. All spiced up with a liberal sprinkling of sterile sheep blood, courtesy of students from the forensics science club. (10/31/08)
Keystone Multimedia Workshop 2008 -- Students Doug Bauman, Jessica Nambudiri and Will Colsher joined alums Ashlynn Holsinger, Matt Stanley, Lauren Little and 14 other participants at the first Keystone Multimedia Workshop during Bike Week in Gettysburg. Content from the workshop will be posted here this week. To get a quick taste of what the event was like you can check out the workshop's Facebook group page. (And don't miss the group's collaborative YouTube video of bike enthusiasts reproducing the sound their motorcycle makes.) The event was sponsored by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association and the College of Communications, with equipment support from Canon (video cameras) and Olympus (audio recorders).
